Authorised Invisalign provider

Invisalign clear aligners in Koothattukulam

Dr. Alka Sajan is an authorised Invisalign provider. Straighten crowded, gapped or crooked teeth with clear aligners that you can take out to eat and to brush.

How Invisalign works

  1. Consultation. Dr. Alka looks at your teeth and gums and listens to what you want.
  2. iTero scan. A quick 3D scan of your teeth, with no moulds.
  3. Your preview. You see a simulation of how your teeth may look after treatment.
  4. Your aligners. A series of clear aligners is made from your scan. Each set moves your teeth a little.
  5. Regular check-ups. You change to the next set as advised, usually every one to two weeks, and we check your progress.
  6. Retainers. When the teeth are in position, you wear retainers to keep them there.

The preview is a projection to help you plan. Individual results vary.

Try a quick preview on your phone

Take a photo on your phone and see a simulation of your smile. This tool is provided by Invisalign, so your photo is handled by them and not by our clinic. It is a simulation to give you an idea. Your dentist will confirm what is possible after an examination.

What Invisalign can help with

  • Crowded or overlapping teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Crooked or twisted teeth
  • Some bite problems, such as an overbite, underbite or crossbite

Some complex cases need other treatment, or a mix of treatments. If Invisalign is not the best choice for your teeth, Dr. Alka will tell you so.

Will people notice them

The aligners are clear and fit closely over your teeth, so they are much less noticeable than metal braces. On some teeth, small tooth-coloured bumps called attachments are fixed to help the aligners grip and move the teeth.

How long does treatment take

It depends on how far your teeth need to move. After your scan, Dr. Alka will give you an estimate for your case. Wearing the aligners as advised, usually for around 20 to 22 hours a day, keeps the treatment on track.

Looking after your aligners

  • Take them out to eat and to drink anything other than water
  • Brush your teeth before you put them back in
  • Rinse and clean the aligners as your dentist shows you
  • Keep them in their case when they are out, never wrapped in a tissue
  • Wear your retainers after treatment, or the teeth can slowly drift back

Cost and EMI

The cost depends on how much your teeth need to move. We give you a clear estimate after your scan, before you decide anything. EMI is available with Bajaj Finserv EMI Network, subject to approval.

Questions about invisalign

What does the consultation include?

It includes the iTero scan, a preview of your likely result and time with the doctor. You decide afterwards whether to go ahead.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Your teeth can feel sore or tight for a few days when you start a new set of aligners. This usually settles. Tell us if it does not.

Can I eat normally with Invisalign?

Yes, because you take the aligners out to eat. Brush your teeth before putting them back in.

How is Invisalign different from braces?

Braces are fixed to the teeth. Invisalign aligners are clear and removable, so cleaning is easier and they are less noticeable. Your dentist will advise which suits your teeth.

Do I need to wear retainers afterwards?

Yes. Retainers hold your teeth in their new position. Without them, teeth can slowly move back.

Is Invisalign suitable for teenagers?

Many teenagers can have treatment, once their adult teeth are in. Dr. Alka will check this at the consultation.

How much does Invisalign cost?

It depends on your case. We give you an estimate after the scan. EMI is available with Bajaj Finserv EMI Network, subject to approval.
